'Grandma' Deyo Dies at Advanced Age of 83 Years Following a long illness, "Grandma" DEYO died Thursday of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Philip MOCHERMAN at Bringhurst, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 25 days. However, she had been bedfast only three days. Death was due to a complication of diseases. Funeral services were held Sunday morning at 10:30 at the Sugar Creek church, conducted by Rev. Redford, of Frankfort. Interment was made in the Zion Cemetery. Lavina Peterson DEYO, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob UNDERHILL, was born October 9, 1839. In 1858 she was united in marriage to Thomas PETERSON, to which union nine children were born, they being Mrs. William CUNNINGHAM of Cutler, Mrs. George PLUNKETT of Delphi, Mrs. Philip MOCHERMAN of Bringhurst, Perry, Price and John PETERSON, of Cutler; Floyd, of Moran, and George and Della, who preceded her to the Land Beyond. Besides the family she also leaves 31 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her departure. She united with the Sugar Creek Baptist Church in 1867, remaining a consistent member until her death. For the past 35 years she had been a resident of Bringhurst.
